Janet Leigh was an American singer, actress as well as a dancer, author and writer. Janet Leigh was born in Merced, California in July 1927 and passed away in October 2004. The most famous of her roles was her role as Marion Crane in 1960 film Psycho. Leigh has also appeared in other movies such as The Romance of Rosy Ridge and The Manchurian Candidate. She was a nominee for the Academy Award in 1961. Leigh was awarded a Golden Globe Award in 1961 for Best Supporting Actress on the film Psycho and was also nominated for the Academy Award for the same character. In 1960 she received an award at the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 1777 Vine Street. She had four marriages including to Tony Curtis and her children are Kelly and Jamie Lee Curtis. Her appearances on numerous TV series as well as wrote four books. Janet Leigh passed away on 3 October 2004 aged age 77, of vasculitis.
